About this opportunity
This newly created role sits within the Finance team and is responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of high-quality front-line client services and coordinating key organisational support services. This position provides dedicated support across the organisation for a broad range of facilities, IT equipment, fleet and corporate services functions across all sites in line with TaskForce’s strategy. Travel will be required across the South East of Melbourne.

About you

You are a highly organised and driven professional with a passion for providing outstanding customer service to both internal and external stakeholders. In addition, you will also have:

AOD Counsellor (Bayside)

TaskForce, now has an exciting opportunity for an AOD Counsellor to join this client centred team, based in Bentleigh. The focus of this position is to reduce AOD related harms to forensic and voluntary clients and their families by conducting intake and assessments, facilitating therapeutic groups, coordinating care and recovery treatment plans and providing a range of counselling interventions to assist clients and their family members.

About you

You will be an experienced AOD Clinician who has previously worked with mandated clients. You will have at least 2 years experience in the provision of assessment and counselling services to forensic AOD clients and knowledge of harm minimisation, client-centered care and recovery-focused principles.  You will be skilled in case management and the use of evidence based therapeutic techniques.

You will have a passion for working with people suffering from substance abuse and the ability to build strong rapport with your clients.  You will have tertiary qualifications in psychology or counselling and be equipped with a Certificate IV in AOD (or equivalent AOD competencies).

About the Funder

Southeast Melbourne Primary Health Network (SEMPHN) have funded drug and alcohol treatment initiatives to complement Victorian funded programs. Some of these include:

  • Reducing adolescent alcohol use in Bayside, Cardinia and the Mornington Peninsula.
  • Improve service access to AOD treatment options in Dandenong and Port Phillip.
  • Provide early intervention and diversion services for young people from ongoing substance abuse.

About the position

The GP Assist Clinician is a new position porting to the Family Services Manager, designed to support improved access to existing AOD services.  The role will work alongside the GP Liaison Specialist to educate General Practitioners (GP’s) about AOD issues and treatment. Clients will be referred to this role by GP’s when more intensive, specialised support regarding drug and alcohol issues is required. The role will work with clients through a screening and assessment process to develop a seamless referral pathway into appropriate AOD treatment. They will provide short to medium term support and brief interventions with a focus on Motivational Interviewing, minimising harm, fostering rapport and relationships with key professionals until an Individual Treatment Plan is developed.

About you

This is an exciting opportunity for a junior Clinician to join the Family Services team in Frankston. Ideally you will have at least 12 months experience in a case management / counselling role in an AOD service. You will have proven experience in the provision of assessment and counselling services with AOD or dual diagnosis clients and knowledge of harm minimisation, client-centred care and recovery-focused principles. With a positive can-do attitude, you will implement strategies and interventions maximising the client’s ability to seamlessly access the services they need.  You will be equipped or willing to complete a Certificate IV in AOD – tertiary qualifications in social sciences, nursing, counselling or the like will be highly regarded.

Care and Recovery Coordinator (Bentleigh) - part time

About the vacancy

We are seeking a Care and Recovery Coordinator with experience in provision of AOD service delivery. The Care and Recovery Coordinator is responsible for the provision of care and recovery coordination for complex AOD clients whose needs will be best serviced by the provision of specialist coordination.

About you

You will have proven skills in the application of assessment, case coordination, case management, treatment planning and discharge planning of AOD clients. You will have knowledge of harm minimisation, client-centred care and recovery-focused principles. Experience working with more complex AOD or dual diagnosis clients, with forensic clients, Child Protection and clients with family reunification orders will be highly regarded.

You will have a passion for working with people suffering from substance abuse and the ability to build strong rapport with your clients. You will be a proactive and engaging case manager, with specific drug and alcohol experience. Ideally you will be tertiary qualified in social work and be equipped with a Certificate IV in AOD.

The Overdose Prevention role seeks to provide outreach and extend Care and Recovery, Bridging Support and continuity of care to clients at high risk of overdose.  The position supports priority clients during key transition periods to remain engaged, this includes clients leaving residential AOD programs, prison and entering voluntary AOD treatment.  The role will also support the team leader with the waitlist and providing important triage support for clients on the wait list.

The Overdose Prevention Clinician is responsible for conducting comprehensive assessments, person-centred planning, care and recovery coordination outreach support and providing a range of counselling interventions, including comprehensive harm reduction interventions, complex case management and linkages with other services. The role will assist clients to change harmful behaviours resulting from problematic alcohol and other drug use.

We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated administrator with a ‘can do’ attitude to join our Education team. Reporting to the Executive Manager, this role is based in our Moorabbin office close to public transport.   The position will support our program managers and trainers so that our training programs are conducted in accordance with relevant standards and guidelines.  The role will also coordinate program enrollments and the administration processes associated with the journey of a student.

About you

You are an all round administrator with an eye for detail and a strong focus on compliance and systems. You are passionate about quality customer service and training.  Training administration experience and excellent IT skills are essential!

Youth & Family Outreach Clinician (Cardinia)

About Us

TaskForce has been providing drug treatment services since 1973. Core services focus on addressing social issues of drug related problems, unemployment, mental health and risk taking behaviours, supporting young people, adults and families to transition back into“mainstream” services and supports.

About the program and partnership

The Cardinia Youth Outreach Program is based in the Shire of Cardinia (Pakenham, Cockatoo and Koo Wee Rup) as part of a partnership between the Cardinia Shire Council and TaskForce Community Agency. This is a unique program that will provide outreach support to young people aged 10-21 years who have complex support needs that are impacting on their mental health and wellbeing – within a family context.

About the role and clients

The Youth & Family Outreach Clinician is a full time role that will provide non-judgmental support and outreach to young people and their families in an environment that is accessible, non-threatening and safe. The client group have complex support needs which may include; drug and alcohol use, poor mental health, school disengagement, criminal activity and family conflict. The Youth & Family Outreach Clinician will provide intensive therapeutic case work to young people, including family work. The principle of harm minimisation is fundamental to the approach of funded drug treatment services.

About you

Ideally you will have 5+ years experience working with youth.  You are also experienced in working with families, particularly in terms of casework, individual and family support, group work and counselling.  You have demonstrated experience working autonomously, you are practical, useful and tenacious; with the ultimate purpose of helping young people to achieve a positive pro-social identity, reduce their offending and achieve a sense of belonging and connectedness in their communities.  You are someone who can think outside of the square and be creative in how, when and where young people are engaged and supported. Relevant qualifications in Youth Work, Social Work, Community Services or other health related qualifications will be highly regarded.

About TaskForce

TaskForce delivers services via three connected streams: specialist AOD services to support people who use drugs and their families, youth retention and re-engagement with education, training and employment, and specialist training through RTO status to enhance the capacity of AOD and other workers to support effective delivery of community-based services.

TaskForce is a leading provider of Driver Education Programs in Victoria and has been assisting people to restore their licences through the provision of both Drink and Drug Drive Education Programs for several years.

The Drink and Drug Driver Behaviour Change Programs

The Drink and Drug Driver Behaviour Change Program Services will involve the delivery of up to three programs for clients:

  • Victorian Drink Driver program (6 hours)
  • Victorian Drug Driver program (6 hours)
  • Victorian Intensive Drink and Drug Driver program (10 – 12 hours)

The first two programs are primarily based on cognitive behavioural and motivational approaches and include some education. Each of the programs includes screening and assessment for alcohol and other drug dependency and where appropriate assertive referral to treatment services. The intensive program is delivered over three weeks and is for more serious driving offences.

About the position

TaskForce now has exciting opportunities for AOD professionals to facilitate the BCP Program across various locations. Reporting to the Education Manager, your role is to deliver specific Behaviour Change group programs to men and women to assist them to restore their licences.

This position is casual and each program involves 2 x 3 hour sessions. You will spend your time working with the group facilitating the program, all other administrative duties are looked after by our intake team!  We are looking for Facilitators to work from the City, Bentleigh, Broadmeadows, Frankston, Rosebud, Seaford, Cockatoo, Dandenong & Pakenham.

Will the program be delivered during the COVID-19 crisis?

Our BCP program is open for business but we have changed the way we deliver programs to keep everyone safe.  TaskForce are now offering BCP programs online.  If the client does not have access to a computer, we can deliver the program over the phone.

About you

You will have a genuine passion for working with people suffering from substance abuse and the ability to build strong rapport with your clients.  You will also have the following:

  • At least 2 years’ experience working with mandated clients and behavioral change interventions with a reputable drug and alcohol treatment provider or related service
  • Qualifications in psychology, social work, health, human services or a related discipline and the Certificate IV in AOD skill set
  • A driver’s licence with no more than six (6) demerit points and no licence disqualifications or suspensions

Experience running therapeutic groups will be highly regarded.
