About TaskForce

Since 1973, TaskForce has provided specialist support for people in serious need in Victoria. Our core services focus on addressing social issues of addiction, unemployment, mental health and high risk taking behaviours, supporting our clients to transition back into “mainstream” services and supports. TaskForce delivers services via three connected streams: specialist AOD services to support people who use drugs and their families, youth retention and re-engagement with education, training and employment, and specialist training through RTO status to enhance the capacity of AOD and other workers to support effective delivery of community-based services.

TaskForce is a leading provider of Driver Education Programs in Victoria and has been assisting people to restore their licences through the provision of both Drink and Drug Drive Education Programs for several years.

The Drink and Drug Driver Behaviour Change Programs

The Drink and Drug Driver Behaviour Change Program Services will involve the delivery of up to three programs for clients:

  • Victorian Drink Driver program (6 hours)
  • Victorian Drug Driver program (6 hours)
  • Victorian Intensive Drink and Drug Driver program (10 – 12 hours)

The first two programs are primarily based on cognitive behavioural and motivational approaches and include some education. Each of the programs includes screening and assessment for alcohol and other drug dependency and where appropriate assertive referral to treatment services. The intensive program is delivered over three weeks and is for more serious driving offences.

About the position

TaskForce now has exciting opportunities for AOD professionals to facilitate the BCP Program across various locations. Reporting to the Education Manager, your role is to deliver specific Behaviour Change group programs to men and women to assist them to restore their licences.

This position is casual and each program involves 2 x 3 hour sessions. You will spend your time working with the group facilitating the program, all other administrative duties are looked after by our intake team!  We are looking for Facilitators to work from the City, Bentleigh, Broadmeadows, Frankston, Rosebud, Seaford, Cockatoo, Dandenong & Pakenham.

Will the program be delivered during the COVID-19 crisis?

Our BCP program is open for business but we have changed the way we deliver programs to keep everyone safe.  TaskForce are now offering BCP programs online.  If the client does not have access to a computer, we can deliver the program over the phone.

About you

You will have a genuine passion for working with people suffering from substance abuse and the ability to build strong rapport with your clients.  You will also have the following:

  • At least 2 years’ experience working with mandated clients and behavioral change interventions with a reputable drug and alcohol treatment provider or related service
  • Qualifications in psychology, social work, health, human services or a related discipline and the Certificate IV in AOD skill set
  • A driver’s licence with no more than six (6) demerit points and no licence disqualifications or suspensions

Experience running therapeutic groups will be highly regarded.

Two years ago, TaskForce added the Reset Life Program to the suite of services offered to clients ready to take the next step in their addiction recovery.  This is an intensively supported program for youth, based on the Matrix program that has achieved high levels of success and quality outcomes for young people

About the program

ResetLife is a highly structured program, with young people divided in to two cohorts (11–16-year-olds and 17-24 year old) attending 3 days at our Youth Hub for individual and group treatment, and encouraged to attend informal support (specifically SMART Recovery and 12-step programs) on other days. The structured program involves 16 weeks of intensive treatment, followed by 16 weeks continuing care. In the first 16 weeks, participants attend:

  • Individual/family therapy sessions
  • Early recovery skills group (psycho-education on skills to achieve sobriety)
  • Relapse prevention group (2x per week for specific skills to prevent relapse)

Senior Care & Recovery Coordinator (Dandenong location)

We are seeking a Senior Care and Recovery Coordinator with at least 3 to 5 years experience in provision of AOD service delivery. The Senior Care and Recovery Coordinator is responsible for the provision of care and recovery coordination for complex AOD clients whose needs will be best serviced by the provision of specialist coordination.  This position will also provide mentoring, leadership and supervision to the current Care and Recovery Coordinators in the teams.

About you

You will have proven skills in the application of assessment, case coordination, case management, treatment planning and discharge planning of AOD clients. You will have knowledge of harm minimisation, client-centred care and recovery-focused principles. Previous experience supervising staff will be highly regarded.  Significant experience working with more complex AOD or dual diagnosis clients, with forensic clients, Child Protection and clients with family reunification orders is essential.

You will have a passion for working with people suffering from substance abuse and the ability to build strong rapport with your clients. You will be a proactive and engaging case manager, with specific drug and alcohol experience.  Ideally will be tertiary qualified in social work and be equipped with a Certificate IV in AOD.

The role will improve the well-being of the ResetLife clients by supporting families with casework services and the provision of social and family education support groups. Working closely with the Primary Therapists, this role will build strong relationships with the young participants and their families.   Applicants will require a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the delivery of clinical interventions (CBT, Motivational Interviewing, Motivational Enhancement Therapy, etc) with people and families.  A proven ability to effectively work with people and families experiencing problematic alcohol and other drugs use in a respectful, compassionate, and positive manner is essential.

We work with you and build your volunteer role around your skills, from assisting with art and cooking programs to helping us with back office tasks.
