Bronze sponsorship ($5,000)

Bronze sponsorship will provide funding for:

  • Art therapy for 20 young people, enabling them to develop their skills and confidence
  • A month of public transport for 65 young people enabling them to travel to and from interviews and appointments
  • Basic food and other essentials for 500 young people in need

Gold sponsorship ($30,000)

Gold sponsorship will provide funding for:

  • Up to 400 hours of 1:1 counselling for young people to build engagement and help them to link with the services they need to improve their lives
  • Longer term accommodation opportunities providing clients with a safe place to stay
  • A new, larger vehicle helping us to take clients to external appointments and interviews
  • Additional training programs including hospitality, work readiness and art classes
  • Development of new life skills course that supports young people coming out of the justice system to break the cycle of dependence and criminal behaviour

Gold sponsorship includes all Silver and Bronze tier benefits PLUS:

  • Gold partner status
  • One day volunteering opportunity for up to ten people

Platinum sponsorship ($100,000)

Platinum level sponsorship will cover funding for an extra mental health support worker, allowing us to extend our youth hub wrap around service providing:

Key Supervisor (ResetLife program)

  • Lead an innovative new service delivery pilot program

TaskForce has been providing drug treatment services since 1973. Core services focus on addressing social issues of drug related problems, unemployment, mental health and risk taking behaviours, supporting young people, adults and families to transition back into “mainstream” services and supports. TaskForce is excited to add the Reset Life Program to the suite of services offered to clients ready to take the next step in their addiction recovery. This is an intensively supported program, based on the Matrix program that has achieved high levels of success internationally.

About the program

Operating from the TaskForce Youth Hub in Moorabbin and funded by the South Eastern Melbourne Public Health Network (PHN), the ResetLife program will support young people through 16 weeks of intensive treatment, followed by 16 weeks of continuing care.

ResetLife is a very structured program, with young people divided in to two cohorts (11-16 year olds and 17-22 year olds) attending 3 days at our Youth Hub for individual and group treatment, and encouraged to attend informal support (specifically SMART Recovery and 12-step programs) on other days. The structured program involves 16 weeks of intensive treatment, followed by 16 weeks continuing care. In the first 16 weeks, participants attend:

  • Individual/family therapy sessions
  • Early recovery skills group (psycho-education on skills to achieve sobriety)
  • Relapse prevention group (2x per week for specific skills to prevent relapse)
  • Youth education group (information to encourage ongoing abstinence)
  • Social support (building social skills for a healthier life)

About the role

The Key Supervisor will lead a multi-disciplinary team to implement and deliver the ResetLife intensive outpatient treatment service to young people experiencing complex and problematic alcohol and other drug use.

This role will ensure strict adherence to the structural and clinical fidelity of the treatment model through: utilisation of the manualised treatment materials; consistent scheduling and facilitation of all group sessions; ensuring client retention through active follow-up.

About you

The successful applicant will be a credible and respected youth leader with at least 5 years experience in leadership, who is an outstanding communicator and possesses exceptional clinical skills. With expertise in youth/adolescent development, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), family systems, and the physiology of addiction, the key supervisor will oversee the implementation and delivery of the youth treatment model.

Personal Care Paid Traineeship – Certificate III in Individual Support (Aged Care & Disability)

About the traineeship

We are currently seeking expressions of interest for an exciting upcoming opportunity. We are looking for individuals who are motivated, enthusiastic & have a genuine interest for caring for others. This opportunity is a great start for a person wanting to start their career in a caring/healthcare setting. This traineeship will be completed in a Healthcare / Disability service in the local area over a 12-month period with the outcome of a Certificate III in Individual Support.

Important criteria

To be eligible for a Traineeship, you must meet the following Criteria:

  • Be a Victorian Job Seeker – a person who is unemployed and a resident in Victoria, who is either:
  • An Australian citizen; or
  • A permanent resident; or
  • A person seeking asylum who holds a temporary visa with work entitlements.
  • Aged between 15 and 30 years;
  • Resident of the City of Greater Dandenong;
  • Without tertiary qualifications; and
  • Not enrolled or engaged in any form of education, employment or training. Note – this does not include young people working less than 12 hours per week on average who are seeking additional work.

In return you will gain a Certificate III in Individual Support and 12 months paid experience in the field, making a difference to the lives of clients.

About TaskForce

Since 1973, TaskForce has provided specialist support for people in serious need in Victoria. Our core services focus on addressing social issues of addiction, unemployment, mental health and high risk taking behaviours, supporting our clients to transition back into “mainstream” services and supports. TaskForce delivers services via three connected streams: specialist AOD services to support people who use drugs and their families, youth retention and re-engagement with education, training and employment, and specialist training through RTO status to enhance the capacity of AOD and other workers to support effective delivery of community-based services.

TaskForce is a leading provider of Driver Education Programs in Victoria and has been assisting people to restore their licences through the provision of both Drink and Drug Drive Education Programs for several years.

The Drink and Drug Driver Behaviour Change Programs

The Drink and Drug Driver Behaviour Change Program Services will involve the delivery of up to three programs for clients:

  • Victorian Drink Driver program (6 hours)
  • Victorian Drug Driver program (6 hours)
  • Victorian Intensive Drink and Drug Driver program (10 – 12 hours)

The first two programs are primarily based on cognitive behavioural and motivational approaches and include some education. Each of the programs includes screening and assessment for alcohol and other drug dependency and where appropriate assertive referral to treatment services. The intensive program is delivered over three weeks and is for more serious driving offences.

About the position

TaskForce now has exciting opportunities for AOD professionals to facilitate the BCP Program across various locations. Reporting to the Education Manager, your role is to deliver specific Behaviour Change group programs to men and women to assist them to restore their licences.

This position is casual and each program involves 2 x 3 hour sessions. You will spend your time working with the group facilitating the program, all other administrative duties are looked after by our intake team!  We are looking for Facilitators to work from the City, Bentleigh, Broadmeadows, Frankston, Rosebud, Seaford, Cockatoo, Dandenong & Pakenham.

Will the program be delivered during the COVID-19 crisis?

Our BCP program is open for business but we have changed the way we deliver programs to keep everyone safe.  TaskForce are now offering BCP programs online.  If the client does not have access to a computer, we can deliver the program over the phone.

About you

You will have a genuine passion for working with people suffering from substance abuse and the ability to build strong rapport with your clients.  You will also have the following:

  • At least 2 years’ experience working with mandated clients and behavioral change interventions with a reputable drug and alcohol treatment provider or related service
  • Qualifications in psychology, social work, health, human services or a related discipline and the Certificate IV in AOD skill set
  • A driver’s licence with no more than six (6) demerit points and no licence disqualifications or suspensions

Experience running therapeutic groups will be highly regarded.
